Cadbury's taste of Polish Chocolate
In the last 155 years, the Wedel brand (a great Polish brand) has become synonymous with great chocolate. The brand was born from the vision and passion to create the best confectionery. Karol Wedel the founder of the company was a pioneer in the area, his chocolate factory which opened in 1851 was the first of its type in Poland. The next generations of Wedel's Family advanced this art to create a brand which was close to the hearts of many Poles.
A few years ago Wedel became part of Cadbury's. The company invested heavily in changing packaging and creating new advertising campaigns in an effort to beat off competitors and sell more Wedel's chocolates. However, the original brand's history, the product itself and it's distinguished logo remained. The average Pole doesn't know that their favorite chocolate is now produced by Cadbury, but who cares if the taste is still the same. The Wedel brand, family owned/Cadbury owned remains a firm favourite in the hearts of many Poles.
